Fluency with physiological vocabulary is not the same as understanding physiology. The types of errors seen in generative AI outputs about physiology look a lot like the things anatomy and physiology students get wrong too, and the reason is the same: language-pattern matching in place of mechanistic reasoning. The good news: you can teach students to catch this error and improve their mechanistic reasoning.
